Beach Wedding Dresses

This past weekend, Billions actress Malin Akerman and actor Jack Donnelly—he plays the lead in the BBC show Atlantis—said “I do” in Tulum. The two initially met through Malin’s younger sister’s boyfriend, and were friends for two years before becoming romantically involved.

“[A year after that,] Jack came to the door with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and proceeded to take me out for dinner at my favorite spot in Brooklyn,” Malin remembers. “We sat in the garden and closed the place down. When we got home, he called me to our room, where he got down on one knee and asked the big question with a beautifully designed ring.”

As soon as they became engaged, Malin and Jack knew they wanted to get married somewhere lush with greenery. “The environment is very important to us, so we were drawn to Tulum and Papaya Playa especially because of the way they take great care in preserving the Mayan Jungle,” Malin explains. “The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and the first time we saw it in person we fell in love with the boho vibes and gorgeous beach. We knew that having our own private section of the hotel would make our celebration feel even more special.”

Beach Wedding Planning Checklist

The couple enlisted Andrea Freeman of Andrea Freeman Events to plan their wedding on the beach, and Malin worked with stylist Molly Fishkin-Levin on her wardrobe. Together, they chose a pale pink dress by Cushnie for the bride’s walk down an aisle lined with pampas grass arranged by Maria Limon into sea glass vessels. “I’ve worn many Cushnie pieces to events and have always felt so chic and cool in their stuff,” Malin explains. She went sans shoes—but accented her look with jewelry by Jacquie Aiche. The couple’s siblings served as their attendants and had free rein to wear whatever they wanted. “We just wanted them to feel comfortable,” Malin says. During the intimate ceremony, which overlooked the ocean, the couple exchanged rings by Deanna deVries underneath an arch (by Archive Rentals) decorated with dream catchers while friends like Carla Gugino, Rob Thomas, and Michelle Monaghan looked on. “It was all fresh and glow-y, nothing too fussy,” Malin says.

Weddings in Mexico

Afterwards, everyone gathered for cocktails before a family-style Mexican seafood barbecue. “We just wanted a great party, so the idea was to keep it casual, chill, and fun,” Malin adds. The newlyweds did their first dance to LP’s “Lost on You,” which she performed live, and then DJ Zen Freeman took over. After hours of nonstop dancing, Rob Thomas took his guitar out and performed a late-night jam session while tamales, esquites, and tacos were served up as snacks on the beach—the perfect ending to this beautiful, bohemian wedding.

  5. Have you at any point seen how something can be so out of fashion that it very well may be nearly in once more? There is a sure chicness about taking an adornment that has been regarded antiquated and recovering it to utilize it in a new manner.海外婚纱摄影
